I. Introductıon
Travelling is one of the most effective ways to improve their personalities, discover new places and lives/cultures and create good social relationships for the young. Tourism ensures you to Iearn while travelling.
Therefore, public and private sectors are to undertake providing safe, clean, inexpensive recreational areas and resorts in order to promote the participation of the young into tourism.
The dormitories included in this guide essentialiy serves for the young of higher education during the academic year. in addition to this, TUREMs (tourism training centers) are boarding schools for vocational training. Both organizations aim to facilitate temporary accommodation for the national and foreign young people. The information about forest camps of the Ministry of Forestry and Youth Camps of Directorate General of Youth and Sporis and aiso the faciiities offering special discounts for the young are inciuded in the guide.
The young, national or foreigner, traveiling for any reason in the country can oniy benefit from the faciiities provided when they abide by the rules specified.

1- There is time limitation for benefitting from the organizations inciuded in the guide.
2- There is age-limit.
3- The appiications wiil directiy be made to the addresses or telephones of the faciiities.

International Cards
• it can be obtained from the member organizations of international Youth Hostel Federation
• it offers cheap lodging at 5000 youth hostel all over the world.
• in order to get hostel card, there is no age limit and no need to be a student.
• Those who do not have IYHF Card are not accepted to the hosteis especialiy in summer times when there is excess demand.
• Hosteis are 60-75 % cheaper than hoteis.
• Hosteis serve not oniy with singie and doubie bed room but aiso in general with 4-6 persons' dormitories.
• Hosteis give the young the opportunity to meet new people make friendships-as they share many things together- to the young from a variety of nationaiities.
• There are sports grounds and recreational areas in most of the hosteis.
Internatıonal Student Identıfıcatıon Card (Isıc)
• it can obtained from the member organizations of international Student Conference (ISTC)
• it is the only valid student identification card all over the world.
• Since national student identification card is not valid abroad, one should take ISIC with her/himseifwhiie going abroad.
• it is valid between the dates from 1 January to 31 December and should renewed every year.
• Any student with his/her identification card can get it without age-limit.
• The foreign students can benefit from all the discounts offered.
• Together with the Card an expianatory guide of types and ratios of discounts is also given.
Internatıonal Youth Travel Card (Iytc)
• it can be obtained from member instituitons of international Student Travel Conference.
• Whether s/he is a student or not, every one can get it under 26.
• it is valid for one year from the initial date.
• it offers discounts at variable ratios for transportation, accodomation, recreational areas, culture centers and shopping.
General Information About General Directorate of Higher Education Credit and Hostels Institution (YURTKUR)
1- General Informatıon About Yurtkur
The Dormitories Of Yurtkur Accomodates Higher Education Students.
Duratıon:
The dormitories are in service and open for the national and foreign young people between the dates 15 JuIy- 10 September.
IYHF-IYC-ISIC (For the foreign students between 18-26) and identification card and identity card for National Students ) Are Valid.
Costs:
Lodging price per day
- For foreign groups 2 $ per capita and for individuals 3 $ per capita.
- National students individual or in group pay two times more for the than its regular price acoording to the type of the group.
- The payment will be done to the dormitory administration.
Brıef Information About The Dormıtorıes:
The majority of the rooms are with bunk and available bed capacity of the dormitories is explained in the guide book.
Breakfast and other courses are not included in lodging price and such daily needs will be afforded personally.
With a majority the toilets and baths are seperate from the rooms and shared. Girls’ and Boys’ dormitories are in seperate blocks. The families also can stay together.
Central Youth Camps of the Directorate General of Youth and Sports
Offıce Of The Prıme Mınıster Dırectorate General Of Youth And Sports Central Camps
Directorate General of Youth and Sports organizes central camps for the youth at youth camp sites in summer. Those sites apart from the camping period serves for the youth national or foreigner within the context of Youth Tourism Project.
Duration: April-May-September-October
Benefıciarıes: IYHF, IYC, ISIC (For the young between the ages 18-24 for foreigners), ID Card and Student Identification Card (for the national ones) have validity for receiving the benefits.
Costs: Admission cost is 60 YTL for 2005.
Reservation: All applications about the reservation will directly be made to Youth and Sports City Directorate in which the camp site exists. However, due to the distance between camp sites and the Directorates, the applications must be at least one month earlier and again at least ten persons in order to do the necessary preparations.
Forest Parks of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry
Excursion spots of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry Directorate General for Nature Protection and National Parks and other forest camps have been privatized for the next ten years .

Transportatıon Systems For The Youth Travel (International Implementations)
1- Inter Rail Card: In Inter Rail System, the international cards Inter Rail 26 and Inter Rail 26+ Card are on sale for the passengers. Inter Rail Card gives unlimited travel opportunity to the young under 26 in the second group (IR-26) or the ones over 26 and the children under 12 ( IR+26 ) on the railways of the countries which are categorized in 8 groups according to the type the card and within the duration specified on the card (16 and 22 days or 1 month). Inter Rail Card, on personel demand, is sold as ist group (16 days), 2nd group (22 days) and the Global (one month)
2- Euro Domino Ticket: Euro Domino Ticket, valid for one month, gives opportunity to travel from 3 to 8 days’ unlimited travel for the adults (over 26 and just in 27), the seniors (just in or over 60) in the lst and 2nd class, and as for the young only in the 2nd group (under 26 not 27 ) on the railways of selected one or more European countries which are the members of the system. Someone who is under 12 years old pays the half of adult price for travelling.
This ticket is fixed-price and the price changes according to the number of the days that the passenger prefers. Each country determines its own price in that ticket type.
3- The Balkans Flexipass: Balkan Flexipass Card, valid for one month, gives oppotunity to travel on the railways of the Balkans (Turkey, Greece, Romania, Bulgaria, Yugoslavia and Macedonia) dependent on the choice for 5—10 or 15 days unlimited travel.
The Balkans Flexpass Card;
- Someone age over 26 in lst/2nd groups and for the young under 26 only in the 2nd group available at the Sales Offices of the Balkan Countries.
- Except for the Balkan Countries sales offices only lst Group is available.

Turkısh State Raılways Schedule For The Young
1- Students: A person, national or foreigner, who is a student in public, state, private schools or at universities, faculties, institutions, academies of music, colleges and vocational colleges.
2- Return Ticket Discount: Someone, who bought return ticket in order to travel between any two destinations.
3- Group Discount: The groups, at least 12 or fewer provided that they pay the same price.
*The ones specified above can benefit from 20 % excursion fare.
4- Train-Tour (Tren Tur) System: It gives opportunity to the passengers to travel on the all trains in service both sleepers and commuter trains for one month. The system is in two types:
a)Express Train-Tour Card: it is valid on the super express, ( Başkent, Cumhuriyet, Fatih, Erzurum Expresses etc.) Mavi Train, regional express, railroad-bus and moto-trains, coaches and commuter trains.
b)Sleeper Train-Tour Card: it is valid on the trains on which Express Train-Tour Card is also valid and the sleepers, couchettes.
* The cards are valid regardless of destination.
Turkish Airlines offers 60 % discount of the regular prices, 10w prices or fixed prices to the students/young people according to the routes, conditions, leveis for the dornestic or international flights.
At Dornestic Fligths Schedule there is no discount for students or young people but 10w prices.

1- The owners of Independence(service) Medal, ghazis ( gazi , widows and orphans of rnartyrs and ghazis, the Turkish citizens over 65, the handicapped and their attendants.
2- The foreign visitors and the officers accornpanying thern as the guests of state/public institutions.
3- AlI the prirnary/secodary school students of Turkish Republic, also high school and university students on condition that they are in group and with a teacher or a cornpetent person.
4- The soldiers and non-cornrnisioned officiers high-rank battalion officiers providing that they corne in group
5- Turkish visitors on the first two days of Museurns’ and Tourisrn Week.
6- The owners of YeIIow Press Card both national and foreigner.
7- The owners of 100M, ICOMOS and UNESCO Cards
8- The national and foreigner tour guides, the owners and cornpetents of Travel Agencies rnernber of TURSAB and also INFO Groups.

1- Free of charge beneficiaries are obliged to presenttheir ID Cards.
2- The tickets valid at rnuseurns and the sites are kept during the visit and shown while checking.
3- There is no charge for the photograph taken with an amatour and a video camera during the visit of the museums and sites.
4- The student visits organized by the schools are to inform the Museum Directorates in advance.
5- Museums and sites are closed on the halfday of the first day of Religious Holidays.
6- Museums are closed on Mondays. (Topkapi Museum, Divan Edebiyati and Yildiz Saraylari Museums and their concerned units on Tuesday, Hisarlar Museum and its concerned units on Wednesday)
7- The other points not included in the “regulations” part wilI be determined by DÖSIMM Administrative Board.
